Print production case study

ASML is the world’s leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or microchips.

Task
ASML commissioned Techworks Asia for the print production of its Images Customer Magazine for Greater China and South Korea.

Approach
Due to the technical nature of the content of the magazine, the translations had to be conducted by translators experienced in the use of technology terminology. They also needed to be familiar with the unique terms and writing presentation styles used in specific media markets such as Taiwan. Techworks translated and localised Korean and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese versions of Images. They also handled the layout and design, as well as the printing, production and delivery of the magazines.

Result
Techworks Asia has worked with ASML successfully for more than three years to produce Images magazines, both on time and on budget. The accuracy of both the translations and localisation has meant ASML customers are able to read feature articles surrounding the company’s products, services, support and emerging technology in the right language and in the right tone.

Without a doubt, the very high quality of Images has enhanced ASML’s profile with its customers and helps maintain its position as a global industry leader. This project is a good example of how Techworks Asia is able to assist a global player with its own PR resources in Asia to deliver a particular niche service, and to a high quality.
